Don DeGree

   Hello, I am excited to be the new owner (as of November 2008) of Peak Climbing.  I look forward to
bringing the excitement and fun of climbing walls to you!!  I have been a wilderness enthusiast most
of my life, and involved in wilderness education for more than 25 years.  Currently, I am the
Wilderness Instructor for the Wilderness Studies Certificate Program at California State University,
Long Beach.  I am an active member of San Bernardino County Sheriff Search and Rescue, Bear
Valley team.
   I am a certified Wilderness First Responder.  I have been certified by the National Association for
Search and Rescue at SAR TECH Two level.  I have also been certified by San Bernardino County
Search and Rescue in Alpine Rescue, ATV operator, and Snow Mobile operator.  I have been
through a Raft Guide Course on the South Fork American River, and numerous kayaking courses
on the Kern River.  I have been certified as a leader in the outdoors by both California State
University Long Beach and Wilderness Education Association.
   I have lead trips kayaking, rafting, canoeing, backpacking, and mountaineering.  I have been on
Mt. Mckinley twice, reaching the summit once!  I am excited to be able to share my "enthusiasm of
adventure" with others.

                                                      Bruce Harter

   Bruce’s love of the outdoors and adventure led him to Peak Performance!, where he worked in
the outdoor education field.  He worked as the climbing wall manager before taking it on as his own
business under the name Peak Climbing and Adventure Company!  Having sold this business as of
November 2008, he will continue to support and to work some events as needed.
    He is an active member of the San Bernardino County Sheriff Search and Rescue, Bear Valley
team, is certified in CPR / 1st aid / AED, and certified by the National Association for Search and
Rescue at the SAR Tech Two level, and certified by San Bernardino County in Alpine Rescue, ATV
and Snow Mobile operator, Technical Ropes Rescue, as well as Personal Vertical Skills.
   He is also involved with the Boy Scouts of America - He is an Associate Adviser for Venturing Crew
87 - Big Bear Lake, CA. He has been the Treasurer, committee member, and former assistant leader
for Cub Scout Pack 87, and is now also assistant leader for troop 87. He has qualified through the
Boy Scouts of America as a Lead Climbing Instructor, Outdoor Leader, Backpacking Leader, and is a
certified BSA Range Safety Officer for archery, BB, rifle, pistol, and shotgun ranges! Bruce is also
trained in High Course Rope Rescue, High Course Site Supervisor, High and low angle rope rescue,
and Top Rope Site Management.

                                                      Ann Harter

Ann has been a part-time employee of Peak Performance! doing everything from helping run the
high ropes courses to cooking for school camps! She works full time as a Ski Patroller for Snow
Summit in the winter and as a full time mom, and co-owner of Peak Climbing the rest of the year - as
well as putting up with Bruce for the last 22+ years - which is no easy task!
She is an active member of the San Bernardino County Search and Rescue, Bear Valley team, is
certified by the National Association for Search and Rescue at the SAR Tech Two level, and certified
by San Bernardino County in CPR / AED / 1st Aid, and Alpine rescue. She is also a first responder
through the National Ski Patrol! She too is involved with scouting, starting out with Girl Scouts as a
co-leader & treasurer, assistant leader with Pack 87, and a committee member for BSA Venturing
Crew 87 and troop 87 - Big Bear Lake, CA, she also helps run the high ropes courses, as well as
being a BSA climbing instructor!

Kahle Harter

Being home schooled, our son Kahle is able to travel with us and help with running the walls and go-
karts. He has been rock climbing since he was about 5, is in the Boy Scouts - Troop 87, as well as
Venturing Crew 87. He's been involved with high ropes courses, loves backpacking, camping, hiking,
and his dog Shadow!


Summer Jones

Summer is one of our professional part time staff! She too is an active member of the San
Bernardino County Search and Rescue, Bear Valley team, is certified by the National Association for
Search and Rescue at the SAR Tech Two level, and certified in CPR / AED / 1st Aid, as well as being a
first responder, and is certified in Alpine Rescue, and ATV and snow mobile operator. Summer is
also very involved with scouting! She is the Committee Chair for Big Bear Venturing Crew 87, and
might as well be the assistant scout leader for troop 87! Summer is also a BSA Lead Climbing
Instructor, as well as a Leave No Trace instructor, Outdoor Leader, Backpacking Leader, and has
held various positions with Troop 87! She also helps with running high rope courses and is trained in
High Course Rope Rescue! Summer is also our official printer, banner maker and computer expert! If
you need professional printing, at very competitive prices, give her a call!

Andy McTique

Andy is another one of our professional part time staff! He comes to us with years of facilitation
experience with both corporate and youth programs. He is a Site Supervisor for high ropes courses,
and is trained in High Course Rope Rescue. Andy is also the youth exchange chairman for Lions Club
District 4-L-3 that sends 150 kids, 16-21 year olds, to the Country of their choice for 5 weeks. Andy is
a soccer coach for elementary school kids in L.A. and an AYSO coach and assistant for club soccer
in Orange County. He is also certified in CPR / AED / 1st Aid.
